I have been teaching at Hoyt Middle School since the Fall of 2011. I currently teach 7th grade core math. I really enjoy working with students that struggle with math because I too struggled with math when I was younger. I know that with hard work and LOTS of practice every student can be successful.
In the Spring of 2014, I started work as Hoyt’s Middle School Activities Coordinator. My job as the activities coordinator, beyond organizing and administering a program of extracurricular events/activities, is to help get students involved here at Hoyt. I remember feeling better about coming to school when I was a part of a team or a club, and I think that many students feel the same way.
In my free time I enjoy being active, especially playing basketball and golf. I spend time around the house watching movies, hanging out with my Great Dane, and cheering on Florida Gator athletics. I am an avid baseball fan and enjoy going to games. I try to visit a new city each summer to watch a couple of games and learn as much as I can about each city.

I was happy to finally find a home here at Hoyt Middle School in 2017. Math has always been a passion of mine. I enjoy helping students to better understand math and how to use it in their everyday life! When I’m not teaching, I enjoy coaching rugby, soccer, and football. I also still play rugby in my free time for the Bremer County Bucks.
